Rules on how many residential units are allowed on one piece of property are set to be changed in Port Colborne.
The current bylaw says that up to three living spaces are permitted at one address, which can include basement or second floor apartments, as well as units within other buildings like garages.
But since Port Colborne was recently awarded funding through the province’s Housing Accelerator Fund, the city is now tasked with allowing up to four units, but under “special circumstances,” says a news release about an open house on upcoming changes to this policy that will be presented at an open house Sept. 16 at the Vale Centre and later brought to council for approval.
