TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A Leon County family is petitioning the Supreme Court after they say a middle school allowed their 13-year-old child to use they/them pronouns.
The parents, January and Jeffery Littlejohn, told their child’s teacher they did not want their child to use different pronouns, but let them use the nickname ‘J’ at school, according to court documents.
The Littlejohns claimed the district and their child’s schools violated their constitutional rights as parents when they allowed their child to “socially transition” without the parents’ knowledge or permission.
