A wildfire burning in the hills above Lavington is now held, and saw no growth overnight.
BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) and area firefighters have been on scene since the fire broke out Friday afternoon.
As of Monday, Sept. 9, the 67-hectare Noble Canyon blaze is classified as held.
Evacuation orders were lifted for area residents Sunday, but evacuation alerts remain for 162 properties:
"The fire is currently displaying Rank 1 with pockets of 2 behaviour, meaning a smouldering ground fire with some visible open flame, but a slow rate of spread," BCWS reports.
Crews are working to establish wet lines along the flanks of the fire. A total 52 firefighters, plus aviation, heavy equipment and structure protection crews, are responding to the blaze.
