A search for an armed man in West Lincoln, which had police warning people to stay inside their homes and for a school to be put on lockdown, ended with the man’s peaceful surrender.
At 7:45 a.m. Monday, Niagara Regional Police responded to a family violence call. Officers were told the caller wanted an intoxicated man removed from a home. Before police arrived, the man had left the home in a white Ford pickup truck and was believed to have a firearm.
Police said the man made statements that raised concerns for his safety, the safety of the broader community and for that of responding officers.
