MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Mission and Texas Citrus Fiesta on Monday held the Legacy in Bloom: Grapefruit Tree Dedication and reopening ceremony of the Texas Citrus Fiesta Building.

The ceremony featured the symbolic planting of a grapefruit tree and the unveiling of updates to the historic Texas Citrus Fiesta building.

"The flooring is 100% new. The walls have been painted. A lot of new furniture in the room, the graphics on the wall, the paintings, just about everything has been ripped off or repurposed," said Amanda Salinas OCaña, Texas Citrus Fiesta president.

The project highlighted the city's commitment to preserving cultural heritage while continuing to grow for future generations.
