Eastern San Gabriel Mountains, Western Antelope Valley Foothills and Eastern Antelope Valley Foothills are the focus of a wind advisory released at 12:40 p.m. on Monday by the National Weather Service. The advisory is valid for Tuesday, Sept. 9 between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.

The NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA adds to anticipate, “Southwest winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph with isolated gusts to 55 mph.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” according to the NWS. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.”
