HOUSTON – Some La Marque residents are being asked to shelter in place Monday afternoon following a gas leak.
The La Marque Fire Department said a third-party contractor struck a gas line near Laurel and First Street.
Residents in the area of Laurel and First, and between Elmo and Bayou, are asked to stay indoors, close all windows and doors, and turn off air-conditioning and heating systems.
Fire, police, and CenterPoint Gas crews are on scene evaluating the leak and developing a plan to isolate the line.
