LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - With Texas Tech coming off two blowout wins, the strength-of-schedule is expected to intensify this weekend as Oregon State comes to Lubbock.
Even though the Beavers currently sport an 0-2 record, Red Raiders head football coach Joey McGuire says he knows his team is facing a much-different level of competition than what was presented by Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Kent State, especially with quarterback Maalik Murphy, one who is well-familiar with Power Four competition. He previously played at Texas 2022-23 and last season at Duke.
In Saturday’s 36-27 loss to Fresno State, Murphy threw for four touchdowns and 371 yards. McGuire says he’s not to be overlooked.
