LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Texas Tech cornerback Amier Boyd-Matthews was arrested early Sunday morning for reckless driving in north Lubbock.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, Boyd-Matthews was seen doing donuts in a car with someone hanging out of the back window at 2:15 a.m. in the 2700 block of 3rd St. The officer proceeded to conduct a traffic stop.
LPD said no one was hurt. Boyd-Matthews has since bonded out of jail at the Lubbock County Detention Center.
Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire said the team will handle the situation internally.
“It’s internal disciple action, we’ll handle it like we have any time in the past,” McGuire said. “We had a couple before, not many, but we’ll handle it inside.”
