(FOX40.COM) — A worker who was rescued after fainting inside a gas tank at Costco died at the hospital, according to the Sacramento Fire Department. • Video above: How to report a public safety threat
SFD said firefighters were called to the Costco on Expo Parkway at around 10:45 a.m. for a special issue.
SFD said once the worker got down the ladder, a coworker had reported that he slid down the last portion of the ladder and passed out. When firefighters arrived at the scene, a tripod was set up with a rope system by the rescue team to pull him out.
Fire officials stated it is unknown if he had passed out from the gas fumes or had experienced a medical emergency after making his way down.
