A worker died after losing consciousness inside a gas storage tank at a Sacramento, California Costco on Monday (September 8). The incident occurred at the Costco on Expo Parkway, where firefighters responded to an emergency call around 10:45 a.m., according to the Sacramento Fire Department (SFD).

The worker, who was not a Costco employee but worked for Ponder Environmental Services, was cleaning the gas tank when he passed out . A coworker reported that the man slid down the last portion of the ladder and lost consciousness amid heavy fumes. Firefighters used a tripod and rope system to rescue him from the tank.
