Nurses volunteer at Paul's Pantry as part of 'Feed Your Kidneys' initiative

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Early Monday morning, instead of heading to their day jobs, four nurses made their way to Paul’s Pantry to volunteer.

The American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA) has a “Feed Your Kidneys” program, aimed at giving back to local pantries and making sure that everyone has access to healthy food options.

“We have this initiative every fall called Feed Your Kidneys, where we partner with local food pantries, and give back to the community and try to get more food to the pantries that are very kidney-friendly,” said Bridget Guerndt, a nephrology nurse and member of ANNA.

Paul’s Pantry has had a massive impact on the community, and organizers say it was a no-brainer to volunteer with an organization that has such deep roots in the area.
