The iconic Brock’s Monument will be getting a much-needed repair job this fall to preserve its place in Canadian history.
The federal government is providing $1.1 million in funding to Parks Canada to work on the monument erected between 1853 and 1856 at Queenston Heights National Historic Site.

The current monument was dedicated on Oct. 13, 1859.
It commemorates the death of Maj.-Gen. Sir Isaac Brock, the commanding officer of British forces in Upper C
