SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Springfield City Utilities will address the city council Monday night regarding its request to raise electric rates.

CU wants to increase rates by 3 percent in early 2027, followed by another 3.5% percent in 2028. The two increases would add close to $9 a month to your bill. The money would pay for three natural gas combustion turbine units and two battery storage projects to meet future power demands.

The Springfield City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. at the police and fire training center on West Battlefield.
