SALEM, Mo. (KY3) - People in Salem, Mo., say they’re fed up with years of issues with utility bills. It’s a story we’ve covered many times, from high costs to meter issues.
They say they’ve tried to appeal to city leaders for answers. Getting none, they’ve decided to call on the state to investigate.
“People are tired of being taken advantage of,” said Steve Evrard, who says the city of Salem is past due for a state audit.
“The city hasn’t been audited by the state since 2010. In 2010, the findings were multiple infractions and problems. Most of those have not been changed as far as we can tell. In fact, things like the utilities have become a lot worse,” he said.
