AMES, Iowa — The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking community feedback on the Vision Document for U.S. 18, covering the stretch from Charles City in Floyd County to the U.S. 63 interchange near New Hampton in Chickasaw County.

The Vision Document outlines future improvements for the corridor, aligning with the Iowa DOT's Super-2 highway concept. This includes regularly spaced passing lanes, turn lanes at key intersections, and safety enhancements such as wider paved shoulders and rumble strips.

Residents are encouraged to review the document and share their input by September 22.

The corridor, approximately 16 miles long, passes through areas including Charles City, Bassett, and New Hampton.
