LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Graffiti artists from across the country have left their mark in one of Louisville's older neighborhoods.

An estimated 180 artists participated in the annual 2BUCK Invitational , a three-day mural blitz that mostly takes place in the Shelby Park neighborhood.

The event was held between Sept. 5 and Sept. 7, but some artists were still working on their murals Monday morning.

One graffiti artist, El Souls from New York City, was helping with an installation on the side of Shahar. His group's design was inspired by older comic book characters. He's a longtime graffiti artist.

"Any way you look at it, it is public art and it's a form of expression," El Souls said. "This wall was once completely empty, and now it has character, has identity."
