‘Never Goes Down’: Simmesport resident speaks out about high water bills

SIMMESPORT, La. (KALB) - In the Town of Simmesport, one resident has expressed that his water bill has gotten too expensive, and he’s not alone.

Marcus Alexander said the cost of water is putting a strain on families like his.

“I just think it’s not right,” Alexander said. “The bill’s too high. Some people can’t afford those bills, and I’m one of them. It’s the same high price every month, and something needs to be done.”

Alexander said his water bill keeps going up, and it’s making it hard for many people in the town to keep their water turned on.

“ We’re paying every month, but the bill never goes down. I’m not the only one complaining; there are a lot of people upset. I’m just one of the few speaking out,” he said.
