A man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the death of a woman found injured in a vehicle near High Park on Friday, Toronto police say.

The 48-year-old Toronto man is due to appear in court on Tuesday. He was arrested and charged on Monday, according to the Toronto Police Service.

Serenity Brown, 21, of Toronto, was found in a vehicle in the area of Glenlake and High Park avenues. Police said they had been called to the area shortly before 6 p.m.

Toronto paramedics took her to hospital, where she died from her injuries. Police have not released the cause of death.

Brown is the city's 30th homicide victim of the year.
