A person was struck and killed on the 405 Freeway Monday afternoon, closing lanes for the investigation in the Sepulveda Pass.
The person was struck at about 2 p.m. on the southbound 405 Freeway at Sepulveda Boulevard , according to the California Highway Patrol. The person appeared to have been standing outside a stopped vehicle on the right side of the freeway.

Authorities initially responded to a crash involving two vehicles. Reports of someone on the freeway struck by a vehicle at the same location were received shortly after the first crash.
Details about the person's identity were not immediately available.
All southbound lanes were closed with the exception of the carpool lane Monday afternoon for the CHP
