The Eugene Police Department identified 21-year-old Jaime Javier Lagarda-Govea as the man who was shot and killed at a Walmart parking lot on the evening of Sept. 5.

The shooting happened outside the Walmart located at 4550 W. 11th Ave, according to the Eugene Police Department. Officers responded to the scene around 5:18 p.m.

Eugene police officials said in a news release on Sept. 6 the person who shot the gun "remained on scene and has been cooperative."

Police have not said whether that person was arrested, but said an investigation is ongoing.
