Pictures show the dramatic rescue of a dog which fell down a massive cliff.

The beloved pet took a tumble at Watergate Beach, Newquay, Cornwall.

Coastguard dispatched teams from Newquay and Padstow and Newquay RNLI Lifeguards.

One brave rescuer was lowered down to the dog by rope, and was able to successfully reunite the scared pup with its owner.

In a post on social media, the Newquay Coastguard said: "After arriving on scene and assessing the situation, a technical rope rescue was set up and carried out.

"A rope technician was lowered down to the dog and brought down safely to the bottom of the cliff.

"Thankfully the dog was uninjured and reunited with its owner once back on the ground.
