MINOT, ND (KXNET) — After inclement weather last month, one non-profit is back with its new and improved celebration and fundraiser.

Independence Inc., in Minot, is celebrating 30 years of breaking barriers with their Remix: The Sound of Independence. This event is free and is being held in Citizens' Alley on Thursday, September 11.

Along with live music, they will also be raising funds to go directly toward their BEYOND program, which aims to empower youth with disabilities as they transition into adulthood.

Scott Burlingame, the executive director of Independence Inc., said this celebration aims to commemorate everything they have done over the past 30 years.
