NEW HAVEN, Conn — New Haven police made an arrest after they said an argument led up to a deadly shooting in August , leaving two men dead.
The suspect, 39-year old Sergio Thomas, appeared in court Monday after police charged him with two counts of murder. The suspect's lawyer, however, said this is a clear case of self-defense based on the evidence.
Police said the shooting happened on Aug. 25 on Dickerman Street. According to Assistant Police Chief David Zanelli, arriving officers found the two men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and unresponsive. An ambulance then brought them to Yale-New Haven Hospital.
One of the victims, identified as Daiquan Hyman, 26, of East Haven, died shortly after arriving at the hospital. Police later said the other victim, identified as Ernest Wil
