MOLINE, Iowa (KWQC) - The Moline-Coal Valley School Board is entering into a lease agreement with Western Illinois University Quad Cities Campus. The lease agreement was finalized at Monday night’s school board meeting.

The lease agreement will be used to house around 350 students at WIU-QC beginning in the spring for 15 months at an anticipated cost of $20,000 per month, according to school board documents. This timeline will align with the construction schedule for the Lincoln-Irving Expansion Project .

The school board voted in favor of the agreement with five “yes” votes and one abstention.

The proposed lease with WIU-QC will be for students and faculty during the 2026 construction project, according to school board documents. The goal is to reopen Lincoln-Irving in August of 2027
