Detroit — Gleyber Torres is not an outwardly emotional or demonstrative person, on or off the baseball field. He can struggle sometimes when asked to express his feelings.

But he’s going back to the Bronx this week for the first time in an enemy uniform. He grew up in the Yankees’ system, broke in and played his first seven big-league seasons with them. He was a two-time All Star there, got Rookie of the Year and MVP votes his first two seasons, played in 45 playoff games and helped them get to the World Series just last year.

He was cheered there and at the end he was jeered there. Is this return going to be emotional for him?
