WASHINGTON — A Fairfax man faces up to 10 years in prison after he admitted to threatening to kill USPS workers and rape the family members of a VA crisis specialist.

According to the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, 57-year-old Kenneth R. Woodard threatened workers at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as well as the United States Postal Service (USPS) Customer Care Center.

Officials say Woodard called the VA crisis line on April 29 and demanded to speak with a VA hospital and, specifically, a VA police officer that he interacted with earlier in the day. During that call, Woodard reportedly said he was on his way to the VA hospital with an armor-piercing firearm to kill the officer.
