EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - After the Michigan State men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Bowling Green last week, the coaching staff emphasized the importance of getting out to a strong start and applying early pressure.
On Monday, the team showed the message was received.
MSU scored three times in the first 25 minutes of its 3-2 win over Oakland on Monday night.
"We were hammering it this week in training, starting fast," said freshman midfielder Peter Soudan. "Against Bowling Green we kind of struggled with that and they got on the front foot and scored early. So, it was just a huge thing Coach Rensing and the staff were saying we've got to get on them early and we were able to do that and control the game."
