David Graves found a 3-foot-long rattlesnake crossing his path while hiking to King's Chair at Oak Mountain State Park.
In a video Graves shared, the snake is well-camouflaged by foliage. Commenters on the Facebook page for sister station WVTM's Chief Meteorologist Jason Simpson described the snake as a " nope rope ."
Graves said he has hiked the trail more than 400 times, and his familiarity with the path helped him spot the snake.
