CLEVELAND — A driver was hospitalized with minor injuries after a single-car crash in Tuscarawas County that led to a natural gas fire, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened at 1:40 p.m. Monday on State Route 212 in Warren Township, near the Atwood Lake spillway.
Troopers say a 44-year-old woman from Scio was driving east on SR-212 when her vehicle veered off the right side of the road and hit a gas line pump house, striking several gas lines. The vehicle became fully engulfed in flames and fire spread to the pump house and several feet of land around the building.
The driver exited the car and made it to safety before she was transported to a hospital in Dover for treatment.
Enbridge Gas workers found a shutoff valve near the scene and stopped the gas supply. Accor
