LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff are starting a new basketball tradition with the Central Arkansas Tip-Off Classic, a men's and women's exhibition doubleheader.

The event is scheduled for October 17 at the Jack Stephens Center.

The matchups will reignite a local rivalry, especially for UAPB head coach Solomon Bozeman, a former Little Rock player and assistant coach.

"I'm excited, definitely excited," Bozeman said. "A lot of old memories and looking to create some new memories... This is going to be personal, not just for myself but for our guys."

The men's teams last faced off in a regular season game in 2018, with UAPB winning 75-66.

Both teams see the classic as a chance to showcase in-state talent.
