DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A 16-year-old girl was struck by a bullet while she was sleeping early Monday morning, police said, after someone opened fire on her home in DeKalb County.

The incident happened at a residence on Triple Crown Lane off Covington Hwy.

The DeKalb County Police Department said its officers responded just after 1 a.m. to the home, finding it had been "shot multiple times."

A 16-year-old girl at the home said she had been hit by at least one bullet. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening, and she was taken to a hospital.
