A passionate veterans charity champion who helped thousands has died. Len Hardy was the founder of the Veterans Contact Point in Nuneaton .

It was not always based in Bentley Road. In 2009, he started the VCP from the Town Hall in Nuneaton, offering support, advice and signposting ex-Servicemen and women and their families to other agencies.

It was very humble beginnings but the need for the service saw the VCP move in 2012, when County Council offered the Horsa Building off Bentley Road to use as a headquarters on peppercorn rent. From there the charity grew, even gaining recognition from King Charles himself.
