WEST SACRAMENTO -- Garrett Crochet picked a good way to follow up one of the worst outings of his career: with one of his best.

The Red Sox left-hander bounced back from last week’s seven-run, four-homer aberration against the Guardians by dominating the Athletics over seven scoreless innings in Monday’s 7-0 win at Sutter Health Park.

Crochet allowed just three hits, did not walk a batter and recorded 10 strikeouts, retaking the Major League lead in K’s from Tigers ace Tarik Skubal, with 228. It was Crochet’s seventh game this season with double-digit strikeouts, trailing only Skubal.
