COLERAINE — Jayce Compton paced the Pine River-Backus boys as he finished 56th in a personal best time of 19:34.9 Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Greenway/Nashwauk-Kewatin Invite.

River Crawford was the top finisher for the Tiger girls as she placed 73rd, followed by Lyric Aulie in 75th.

"Despite the cold drizzle, athletes (415) from all 18 teams in attendance persevered. As for the Tigers, we had three personal bests," Coach Karl Ludeman said.

Besides Jayce Compton, personal best times were recorded by junior high runners Tobyn Compton and Rosie Christiansen.

PR-B didn't post any team scores because they had fewer than five runners.

The Tigers are scheduled to host an invitational at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11.
