High schoolers in the United States earned their lowest marks on reading and math since 2005, according to "The Nation's Report Card" released on Sept. 9.
The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), also known as "The Nation's Report Card," shows that nationally, high school students across public and private schools continued to backslide in math, science and reading in 2024. The report released Sept. 9 does not include state-level statistics, but Ohio Department of Education and Workforce state and district report cards are expected to be released on Sept. 15.
