Ryanair passengers warned as airline scraps 'controversial' £68 rule
Ryanair is planning to change its oversized cabin bag policy for staff, as CEO Michael O'Leary states he "makes no apology" for the new rule.
The airline is going to increase the bonus for staff who identify oversized cabin bags to €2.50. The CEO also announced that the monthly cap on this bonus of €80 (£68) will be removed, with airport staff also being offered increased and unlimited bonuses of €2.50 for every non-compliant carry-on bag they confiscate from passengers.
Passengers whose cabin luggage exceeds the maximum dimensions for a small suitcase are charged fees of up to £75 and their baggage is placed in the hold.
