A couple who were quoted a whopping £120k for their dream barn conversion managed to save an impressive £80k by taking on the majority of the work themselves.

Georgia Goulden-Page, 30, and Josh Gill, 33, purchased their ideal barn conversion in Warwickshire in August last year for a cool £715k.

The property was in dire need of a complete overhaul, including a brand new kitchen, internal reconfiguration and extensive repairs.

Initially, the couple sought out a contractor but after being quoted a staggering £120k for the work, they quickly realised it wasn't financially feasible.

Rather than putting their dream project on hold, they decided to roll up their sleeves and tackle the renovation themselves.
