Recent Decisions by National Courts Germany The Bavarian Highest Regional Court (Bayerisches Oberstes Landesgericht, (BayObLG)) has set aside a USD 46.4 million arbitral award against multinational pharmaceutical and biotech nology company AstraZeneca on 2 April 2025 (docket no. 102 Sch 39/24 e). The arbitral award was rendered in December 2023 by a tribunal at the German Arbitration Institute (DIS) in favor of the sellers of Definiens AG, a pioneering Munich-based diag nostics technology firm.
