The third week of Iowa high school football in 2025 is quickly approaching.

There were some exciting games in Week 2, headlined by Waukee Northwest's 27-24 win over then-No. 1 West Des Moines Valley at Waukee. Expect Week 3 to be no different.

The top games of Week 3 on Sept. 12 include Class 5A battles between new No. 1 Waukee Northwest and Iowa City High, No. 4 Dowling Catholic and Dallas Center-Grimes, Pleasant Valley and No. 7 Iowa City West, No. 3 Valley and Urbandale.

Also in the Des Moines metro, Des Moines Roosevelt travels to Ankeny to face the 5A No. 5 Hawks and Des Moines North hosts Saydel. Des Moines Lincoln hosts Ankeny Centennial on Sept. 11.
