Syracuse, N.Y. - A fire damaged a vacant house on Syracuse’s South Side late Monday night.
Firefighters were called to 145 W. Brighton Ave. at approximately 11:37 p.m. where they found fire coming from the rear of the 2 1/2-story home, according to Syracuse Fire Department First Deputy Chief Daniel Downs.
The fire was called in by a neighbor living behind the home, according to dispatch records.
Firefighters found the fire on the rear right side of the house. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to put the fire out, he said.
There were no injuries and firefighters found nobody inside of the house, he said.
Firefighters were on scene for more than an hour.
Vacant house fires are not uncommon in Syracuse.
