Forgery charges against former Summerdale police chief Kevin Brock have been dismissed.
Brock and his wife, Lori, were previously indicted on charges of second-degree forgery and second-degree possession of a forged instrument.
An investigation into a property dispute prompted the charges. According to the indictment, the Brocks forged a warranty deed. However, prosecutors filed to dismiss the charges against Kevin Brock on Monday.
Kevin Brock was fired after the city learned of the criminal investigation.
Brock served six years in the U.S. Air Force before working as a law enforcement officer at Foley Police Department, Loxley Police Department and the state of Alabama. He was appointed chief of Summerdale in July 2018.
The suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
