Nottingham Forest have officially appointed Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach, following the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo. Nuno was relieved of his duties on Monday night due to a deteriorating relationship with club owner Evangelos Marinakis.

Postecoglou, who was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur in June after a brief tenure, is set to make his debut in charge during the upcoming match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. His appointment comes as Forest aim to enhance their performance in the Premier League and secure European football.

Marinakis expressed confidence in Postecoglou's capabilities, stating, "We are bringing a coach to the club who has a proven and consistent record of winning trophies. His experience of coaching teams at the highest level, along with his desire to build something special with us at Forest, makes him a fantastic person to help us on our journey and achieve consistently all our ambitions."

The owner highlighted the club's aspirations, noting, "After gaining promotion to the Premier League, then building consistently season after season to secure European football, we now must take the right step to compete with the very best and challenge for trophies."

Postecoglou's previous success includes leading Spurs to Europa League glory, although his league performance left much to be desired, finishing 17th in the Premier League. Now, he faces the challenge of revitalising Nottingham Forest and guiding them towards a more competitive future.
