BURLINGTON, ND (KXNET) — The 2025 Scheels BurliMOT Half Marathon is taking off on September 13, with the one-mile walk/run taking place on September 12.

The half-marathon starts in Burlington at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and take runners and walkers on a path over 13.1 miles along the Souris Valley. The finish line is in downtown Minot. People can park on the north side of the Sports Complex (follow Colton Ave to Davis St N, turn right on Valley Ave), and a shuttle will be available to bring people to the start line.

In 2024, there were 127 people who raced in the half-marathon and 82 in the 5K. The attention these long races bring to communities is rather large, as it wasn't just North Dakotans who were running. Runners from Montana, New Jersey, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Idaho, Virgin
