A major UK high street charity shop chain is closing more stores across the UK. Scope is shutting two more stores on September 27.

A Scope store in Alton closed on August 30, followed by branches in Bishop's Stortford, Huntingdon and Newmarket, which all shut on September 6. Two more shops in Beverley and Fleet will then close for good on September 27.

The closures come as part of wider plans for Scope to shut 77 stores this year, after the charity forecast a £1.5million loss this financial year. Scope had 138 shops at the time of launching a consultation into the closures in January this year.
