Residents of an apartment building who were displaced when it suffered damage believed to have been caused by construction of the new UBCO tower are getting new homes.
UBC Properties Trust has bought four parcels of land near the Capri mall where it will build the new apartment building. It will have 69 suites, and is designed to be a permanent replacement for Hadgraft-Wilson Place on Bertram Street.
“I’m very pleased to see that so much progress has been made and that we can now focus on a clear and positive outcome,” UBC Okanagan principal Lesley Cormack said in a Monday release.
“I’m immensely grateful for everyone’s patience and understanding, as well as for the countless hours that have gone into moving this solution forward,” Cormack said.
