This season's Ryder Cup selections have broken more than a few hearts . And while Rory McIlroy was busy hoisting the Irish Open trophy last week at The K Club, his first win there in two decades , another pro was quietly nursing disappointment.

Patrick Reed, a three-time Ryder Cup veteran, admitted he had hoped to be part of Keegan Bradley's 12-man squad heading to Bethpage Black. But the call never came.

Reed's season was impressive. He posted a third-place finish at the Masters, cracked the top 25 at the U.S. Open and won LIV Golf Dallas earlier this summer. Yet inconsistencies kept him out of the six captain's picks, where Bradley left himself off the team , choosing to focus solely on his captaincy.
