Netflix has officially set Heartland , a new mystery thriller starring Oscar-winner Jessica Chastain, with filming scheduled for a two-month shoot starting at the end of September in Atlanta, Georgia, and Nashville, Tennessee.

The film is directed and co-written by Shana Feste , best known for dramas, thrillers, and even more romance-heavy movies in titles like Country Strong and Run Sweetheart Run . Feste also co-wrote the screenplay, with production coming from Chernin Entertainment in partnership with Sandbox Entertainment.

In Heartland , Chastain plays Misty Jones, a former country star who reluctantly comes out of seclusion to investigate the disappearance of her niece, a rising young musician. Taking on the role of the missing niece is country singer Carter Fait
