Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson embrace their inner Neil Diamond in the upcoming musical film Song Sung Blue.
Written and directed by Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow, Dolemite Is My Name), the film is based on the 2008 documentary of the same name (which, in turn, shares a name with a 1972 Diamond song). It followed musicians Mike and Claire Sardina, who rose to fame as the Neil Diamond/Patsy Cline tribute act Lightning & Thunder. (He's Lightning, she's Thunder.)
Jackman and Hudson take on the roles of Mike and Claire in Brewer's Song Sung Blue, charting their journey from struggling musicians to local icons. Along the way, the two fall in love, get married, and sing a ton of Neil Diamond songs. The film's first trailer features Hudson and Jackman singing snippets of Diamond's "Cherry, Cherry"
