A mother was arrested in Riviera Beach after her three children were found locked inside a truck for several hours that had a loaded gun on the floor, police said.
Torquita Griffin, 37, is facing several charges, including child abuse and unsafe storage of a firearm.
According to Riviera Police, on Monday, officers received reports that a truck and a trailer were left at a pump at a Marathon gas station for about three hours.
When officers arrived at the gas station, they saw three children inside the truck: A 20-month-old, a 5-year-old and a 16-year-old who were alone.
During a search for the children's parents, police said they found a loaded 9mm handgun on the truck's floor.
